GREENFIELD-The Greenfield Fire Department leading the way in marking the sacrifice of our local military who answered the call in the wake of 9-11.

Songs and silence at the fire house Wednesday night as members of the Fire Department and community paid tribute to Army Specialist Scott Nagorski.

He was killed in Afghanistan in 2010 at the age of 27.

An ambulance has been dedicated in his name and a special insignia denoting the honor was unveiled for the first time.

Nagorski's family was on hand, his Uncle Jim spoke to the crowd.

"We all miss Scott and we are honored that this ambulance is dedicated in memory of him. To our service men we'd like to say thank you for what you do every day so we can have freedom like this."

The formal speakers refused to introduce themselves and instead wanted only the names mentioned to be those who died on that fateful day 12 years ago.
