MILWAUKEE-It's an annual tradition, planting day the Summerfest grounds.

Local school students and volunteers gather early in the morning to spruce up the lakefront property in anticipation for the world renowned music festival which is about a month away.

Usually thoughts of summertime fun meet the occasion but on Thursday it was cold and rainy.

Some of the worst weather for this event in years.

Still, the students soldiered on. They were all bundled up and in raincoats.

In the end some 48,000 plants were added.

Temperatures are expected to be in the 40's Thursday night and drop overnight. First Alert Weather says patchy frost a possibility.

Look for the holiday weekend forecast and Milwaukee's only ten day forecast on CBS 58's Ten at 10.
