MILWAUKEE---A 7-year-old boy had to be resuscitated after he was rescued from a house fire on Milwaukee's south side.

The Fire Department was called out to 10th and Morgan around 7:45 a.m. Saturday.

When crews arrived on scene they found flames shooting through the roof of the home.

Firefighters were able knock down the fire which had started on the second floor.

When they did a search they found a 7-year-old boy in a second floor bedroom. He was not breathing and didn't have a pulse.

Paramedics worked on the boy and were able to get him breathing again. He was taken to Children's Hospital.

A relative of the boy who was home when the fire broke out was able to get out safely.

The Fire Department says there were no smoke detectors in the home.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
