MILWAUKEE -- Multiple Walgreens stores in the Milwaukee area have been closed after receiving bomb threats. The Walgreens near Mayfair Mall at North Ave. and Mayfair Rd. was evacuated Monday afternoon.

An Oak Creek Walgreens  on Howell Ave. was also closed and surrounded by law enforcement, but that store and the other has since reopened.

The comes hours after a Walmart in West Milwaukee was temporarily closed by a bomb threat.

According to the FBI, there have been similar bomb threats at retailers across the country to try and scam stores out of prepaid cards.  It is unclear if those incidents are connected to the incidents in the Milwaukee area.
