SDC to begin accepting energy assistance applications on Oct. 1

MILWAUKEE -- The Social Development Commission will begin accepting applications for energy assistance at several of their Milwaukee area locations on October 1st.

Applications will be accepted at the following offices:

  • 4041 N. Richards St.
  • 2701 S. Chase St.
  • 6848 N. Teutonia
  • Community Advocates Office at 728 N. James Lovell.

When applying for energy assistance, please remember to bring a photo ID, proof of income for the entire household during the past three months, social security numbers for all household members, and a current energy bill or letter from the landlord if heat is included in your rent.

Energy assistance  is a one-time payment during the heating season that pays part of energy costs for eligible residents who are struggling with utility bills.
