Man shot during home invasion

WEST ALLIS --- The West Allis Police Department is searching for man who entered a residence and shot a man during a robbery early Thursday morning.

It happened just after 4:00 a.m. in the 1400 block of 59th St.

Residents say a man with a handgun forced his way into their home and made his way through several occupied bedrooms demanding money and guns.

While attempting to enter one of the bedrooms, there was an altercation between the suspect and a resident. The resident was shot in the arm and the suspect fled the home.

The shooting victim was treated for the non-life threatening injury and released.

The suspect is described as a tall black male wearing a skull cap and black sweatshirt.

West Allis Police are still investigating the circumstances of the robbery.
