The heat is on for the end of May but leaves to start June

Milwaukee (CBS 58)--The sweat factor will be high today with heat indices reaching 90 in many areas.  However, this will be short lived thanks to a cool front slipping down from the north overnight.  Temperatures could plummet at least 20 degrees. With the intense heat and humidity, we can't rule out a few pop up storms during the day today.

Behind the front, as mentioned, look for highs to struggle to get to 60 degrees on Friday, especially lakeside.  Farther west, we'll see readings in the 70s.  With the brisk northeasterly winds, we could also see some rip current issues, so swimmers be careful.

The first weekend of June looks good except there is the chance for rain and thunder very late Saturday night into early Sunday morning.  This shouldn't impact your weekend plans though.
