Students in limbo with early closing of Anthem College

BROOKFIELD-Students in the medical related professions are scrambling now that Anthem College announced it will be closing its doors August 22nd.

Originally, students thought they would be able to finish their program by September 15th.

\"I'm very angry right now,\" student Pablo Olivares tells CBS 58's Lila Carrera. \"We just walked in and got smacked with it this morning.\"

The school released this statement:

\"Due to an extended period of financial difficulty, Anthem Education has made the difficult but necessary decision to close several of its facilities on August 22, 2014, in conjunction with the end of the academic term. Anthem Education has secured teach out and transfer opportunities for the all of our students at Anthem College - Brookfield, subject to ABHES approval, and we are pleased that our students may continue pursuing their educational goals.\"

The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools will decide by next week if credits can be transferred.

Students may also find out next week if they'll be able to finish the program at the Milwaukee Career College.

Students say they were told they might get a refund if they fill out all the proper paperwork, but that is very much up in the air.
