Strong Storms for the Weekend

Temperatures are expected to really climb Saturday afternoon ahead of a cold front.  Milwaukee could make a run at 80 degrees thanks to a strong southwest wind and a mix of clouds and sun.  The last 80 degree day was back in October, so it's been 6 months.  Milwaukee averages 1 day in the 80s during the month of April, so we don't see them very often.

A cold front will approach from the northwest on Saturday evening.  Heat and humidity will pool ahead of the front, and that will allow showers and storms to develop between 6 pm and 11 pm.  The heart of the storms will sit over Milwaukee around 10 pm.

These storms could become strong to severe with hail and damaging winds; however, we aren't expecting widespread severe weather.  The overall wind shear will be low, so the tornado threat is minimal.

Quarter hail and gusty winds to 60 mph will be the primary threats.  The storms will clear for Easter morning, so sunrise services should be dry and mild with temperatures in the 50s!
