Staff discover 33 baby snapping turtles at Boerner Botanical Gardens

HALES CORNERS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Staff at Boerner Botanical Gardens in Hales Corners made an adorable discovery Thursday.

According to a Facebook post, a staff member saw a large snapping turtle laying her eggs in the rotary path this past June.

On Thursday, they saw some odd clumps of "soil" in that area, and soon saw more and more baby snapping turtles emerge from the planting bed.

The staff was able to wrangle 33 baby snapping turtles and get them safely down to their bog garden.
