Six New Cases of Elizabethkingia Confirmed

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services confirms six new cases of Elizabethkingia in the state.

That increases the number of cases from 48 to 54 the rare blood infection has not spread to any new counties than the 12 previously reported.

But, the cause of the outbreak is still unknown.

Many of the people affected are 65 or older and had an underlying illness.
