RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Racine County is now home to a new place for people to enjoy some fun in the sun. The SC Johnson Community Aquatic Center held its grand opening Wednesday.
It's the largest community pool in Racine County and is located in Pritchard Park.
The facility will offer affordable swimming lessons and water safety education, “Drownings are very preventable, and all it takes is a swim lesson to correct that, but swimming is important because it's something you can do your entire life,” said Fisk Johnson the chairman and CEO of SC Johnson.
The center will have two swimming pools. One of those pools will have activity areas for kids with water slides and a shallow area for young children.
The Aquatic Center opens to the public on Friday.
