Salvation Army Kick Off Happening November 4

Community leaders, volunteers and donors will kick off the 2016 Red Kettle Campaign at a Tweet and Eat event. VIPs in attendance will be served a fresh, hot breakfast including pancakes, bacon, omelettes and fruit, donated by Milwaukee Public Market merchants. A special appearance will be made by Tinker, the bell-ringing horse. Those who are not able to attend are invited to join The Salvation Army online by tweeting with hashtag #SAmilwaukee.

Salvation Army bells historically mark the beginning of the Christmas season. Bell ringers will take to the sidewalks and storefronts late Friday morning as the Red Kettle Season kicks off.

The Red Kettle Campaign goal is $4 million.

Money raised through the Red Kettle Campaign is used to support Salvation Army programs throughout the year.

The Salvation Army has been serving those in need for more than 150 years.

The kick off event will happen Friday, November 4 from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM at the Milwaukee Public Market.
