Rain and thunder to end the week, a few snowflakes north

I thought you said the snow was done with, Nelson?! I can hear someone thinking or saying this as they’re reading this. Yes, the snow is done with; the snowfall that accumulates! There’s a chance for a few flakes to fly in our northern areas by Friday night.

Let’s look at the forecast for the threat of rain, first. Rain showers will move in along the front later this evening and tonight, although it will be very isolated. The better opportunity for rain arrives around a stronger wave of low pressure by Friday afternoon and evening. This could throw down a quick 0.25” of rainfall.

On the back side of the storm system, the timing could be right to add a light mix or sleet or snow. This is not expected to accumulate as the ground is too warm and will lack the potency and consistency behind the storm to do much damage.

Next week still looks very warm! The weekend will feature some cooler numbers, but 70s make a return by early next week.
