Racine PD take Suspect into Custody Accused of Killing 14-year-old

Investigators have concluded their initial interview of Keller Mcquay and he is being apprehended for first degree intentional homicide and possession of a firearm by a felon. Mcquay is being transported to the Racine Juvenile Detention Center.

Investigators conducting surveillance identified a vehicle believed to be occupied by Keller Mcquay Friday evening.

At about 5:53 PM traffic stop was initiated in the area of Ninth St. and Villa St. in Racine. Keller was located in the vehicle and transported to the Racine Police Department Detective Bureau without incident.

This investigation remains ongoing – further information will be provided as it becomes available for release.

On Thursday a 14-year-old girl was suffering from a gunshot wound. The girl was transported by Racine Fire Rescue to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital where she was taken by Flight for Life to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee. Tragically, efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.
