Republican lawmakers propose 70mph speed limit on some freeways
MADISON -- Republican State Representative Paul Tittl introduced a bill to raise the speed limit from 65 miles per hour to 70 miles per hour on some Wisconsin freeways and expressways.
In a release, Tittle said Wisconsin is the only upper midwest state with a 65 miles per hour speed limit. He says the bill would bring Wisconsin into alignment with neighboring states.
If this bill is passed, Wisconsin would join the 37 other states with a speed limit of 70 miles per hour or above.
