Police work to prevent crime in Milwaukee

There have been eight people  shot in the city of Milwaukee in the last three days. Thursday afternoon, Mayor Tom Barrett held a press conference to address the issue.

\"Let me tell you what I want, I want this in every neighborhood, I want a grandmother to be able to sit in her front porch and safely watch her children play in her front yard,\" said Barrett.

He said we need new legislation that would give stricter punishment to those who illegally posses guns. He also said he needs the cities help to prevent crime.

\"We need our citizens to step up and help our police department. We need citizens who know of individuals who have illegal guns to call MPD to get those illegal guns off the street,\" said Barrett.
