Police Investigating Attempted Suicide at McKinley Marina of Woman and Infant

UPDATE: Milwaukee Police are investigating an attempted suicide that happened on Monday around 3:00 p.m. in the McKinley Marina, 1700 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive. 

A 21- year-old Milwaukee woman entered the water while holding an infant child, according to a release by Milwaukee Police. 

Witnesses said to police it appeared the woman was attempting to drown herself and the child. 

Milwaukee Police arrived and rescued the woman and child from the water. 

Milwaukee Police and the Milwaukee Fire Department performed life saving measures for the woman and child. 

Both were taken to local hospitals and are receiving medial treatment.  

ORIGINAL: A woman and a young girl were pulled from Lake Michigan near McKinley Marina Monday afternoon. 

Officials received a call around 3:02 PM that two people were in the water.

The woman and the child were both removed from the water. They both had cardiac arrest and were taken to the hospital.

Milwaukee Police divers were the first on scene and removed the woman and child from the water without a boat.
