Police arrest felon with gun after Shot Spotter call

Milwaukee Police responded to a Shot Spotter call in the 3600 block of North 27th Street
After responding they arrested a felon with a gun blocks from the scene.
This incident happened on August 28 at about 10:00 PM.
As District five officers were in the area they observed a man who appeared to be placing a handgun into his pocket while walking away from the shots fired area.  Upon seeing the police, the suspect ran into a near by yard.  Officers arrested the suspect and located a 9mm handgun in his pocket.   The cartridges in the suspect’s gun matched the casings that were recovered at the shots fired scene.
The suspect, who is a 35 year-old Milwaukee man, is a convicted felon and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or another substance.  The man later spit onto an officer while being processed.  The case will be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office for charges.
