Sarah the Snow Dog
She isn't exactly playing in this picture - but it is a very heartwarming story of a nearly euthanized dog experiencing and loving snow (and a nice home!) for the first time. This is Sarah. She was rescued in September from death row at a gassing shelter in rural North Carolina. I fostered her in Washington, DC, and my parents fell so in love with her that they decided to adopt her! We drove her home to WI over Christmas and she loves the new experience of snow. She thinks it's a hide and seek game and shoves her nose into the snow at every opportunity. A very happy ending for this girl who almost didn't get a second chance!
