Packers player Aaron Jones suspended for first two games of regular season for violating substance abuse policy

GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Green Bay Packers player Aaron Jones has been suspended without pay for the first two games of the regular season.

According to an NFL statement, Jones has violated the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.

Jones will be eligible to return to the Packers’ active roster on Monday, September 17 following the team’s September 16 game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Jones is still eligible to participate in all preseason practices and games. He tweeted that he accepts responsibility for his mistake and regrets it.
