Officials: Waukesha stabbing suspect arrested after high-risk traffic stop in New Berlin

NEW BERLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- An alleged stabbing suspect was apprehended after a high-risk traffic stop in New Berlin on Friday, July 23.

New Berlin police say around 11 a.m., they were alerted of a possible stabbing that happened near Fleetfoot Drive and Mohawk Lane in Waukesha. The suspect allegedly got into a red Jeep with temporary plates and fled the area. 

Approximately 13 minutes later, two New Berlin officers located the Jeep heading eastbound on National Avenue, near Beloit Road, in New Berlin. 

Police say a high-risk traffic stop was initiated and the suspect was safely taken into custody without incident. 

Both the suspect and vehicle were turned over the the Waukesha Police Department.
