NFL Hall of Fame museum exhibit coming to Appleton

APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) -- A history museum in Appleton is getting a new exhibit that honors some of the NFL's greatest players.

"Gridiron Glory: The Best of the Pro Football Hall of Fame" will launch on June 30th, and run through January 2019 at the History Museum at the Castle.

The nationally renowned exhibit tells the history of professional football, and features rare artificats from a variety of NFL franchises, including Wisconsin's own Green Bay Packers.

The museum's executive director, Matt Carpenter says: "The thing that I'm looking forward to seeing is the coil that was under Lambeau Field for the Ice Bowl game... the coil that failed and caused the ice buildup... that'll be fun."

The exhibit was timed to be in Northeast Wisconsin at the same time as the Packers' 100th season.
