(AP) -- A Wisconsin company says it is voluntarily recalling some cheese because of possible listeria contamination. Alpine Slicing and Cheese Conversion of Monroe announced the recall Sunday. The company says testing by an independent laboratory confirmed that some products processed on the shred line contained potentially fatal listeria. Symptoms of listeria include fever, headaches, stiffness and diarrhea. The company says no illnesses have been reported. The recalled products are "Brennan's Cellars Shredded Premium Fondue Blend -- Emmentaler Swiss & Gruyere Cheese," "Brennan's Cellars Shredded Mild Colored Cheddar Cheese" and "Brennan's Cellars Shredded Part Skim Mozzarella Cheese." The recalled products were distributed to Brennan's Stores in Milwaukee, Dane and Green counties of Wisconsin. The company says it has contacted the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. John died tragically on May 27, 2004 while riding his bicycle to work. His friends, colleagues and family honor his memory by raising funds annually to be contributed to a deserving cause. Each year this ride is held on Memorial Day weekend and retraces the route he rode to work. Beginning at South Shore Park, to his duplex in Bayview, through downtown Milwaukee, along the lakefront, and ending at his assigned fire station in Shorewood. Many riders make the return trip to South Shore Park. After the ride we will meet at the Milwaukee Ale House. The ride is a fun ride, not a race.
