New report shows Milwaukee ranks #13 in list of cities with more student loans than mortgages

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Magnify Money recently released a report that ranks 50 of the biggest metro areas according to their ratio of student debt to mortgages.

The findings revealed that 7.06% of Milwaukee residents carry higher balances on their student loans than their homes, which placed Milwaukee as number 13 in the report.

Pittsburgh topped the list of people who owe more on student debt than mortgage debt. Buffalo, Cleveland, Memphis, and Birmingham rounded out the top 5.
