New Berlin Man Fires Shots And Holds Wife Hostage After Argument

NEW BERLIN - The New Berlin Police Department responded to a residence in the 13100 block of west National Avenue for a call of an intoxicated 38-year-old male who had arrived home and got into an argument with his 36-year-old wife. The call came in shortly before 1 a.m.

The male armed himself with a shotgun and then fired several rounds into the air on his patio. The male held the female briefly in the residence against her will, prior to police arrival.

Upon police arrival, the male was distracted and the female fled the residence, unharmed. The male also fled the residence and discarded the shotgun outside of the residence.

The male was located and taken into custody.
