WASHINGTON D.C (CNN)- Firefighters arrived at the West Wing Saturday morning to investigate a report of smoke coming from a room near the visitor’s entrance.

A government official describes the smoke as originating from a "mechanical room or closet."

The secret service evacuated the wing out of an "abundance of caution."

People have now been allowed back inside the building.

There's no word yet on exactly what caused the smoke.
