PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Mitt Romney is looking to Pennsylvania to help slow President Barack Obama's momentum ahead of next week's high-stakes presidential debate.
The Republican presidential nominee campaigns in the Philadelphia area on Friday. He is to meet donors at a high-dollar fundraiser before a midday rally at Valley Forge Military Academy and College.
A Republican presidential candidate has not won Pennsylvania in nearly a quarter-century. Romney aides privately concede that Obama has a significant advantage in the state with the election just 40 days away.
Romney's visit -- his first to the state in more than two months -- is mainly to raise money. Obama will stick close to Washington on Friday, where he has three fundraising events.
Both men will devote time this weekend to preparing for Wednesday's debate.
