Milwaukee Police Identify 18-Year-Old Woman Fatally Shot on West Villard Street

UPDATE: The victim in the March 30 homicide in the 8100 block of W. Villard Avenue is identified as Audrea JS Williams.  According to Milwaukee Police, the preliminary investigation reveals the homicide resulted from a domestic dispute. 

MPD is currently seeking a known 19-year-old Milwaukee male suspect for the crime and our investigation continues.  

ORIGINAL: An 18-year-old Milwaukee woman suffered a fatal gunshot wound during circumstances that are still under investigation. 

Milwaukee Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened on Wednesday around 12:45 PM inside a residence in the 8100 block of West Villard Avenue. 

At this time it is unknown if the gunshot wound was self-inflicted and the investigation is ongoing.  

According to police, a witness took a baby away from the scene briefly but the baby was returned and is now with Child Protective Services. 

New information has determined this incident to be a homicide.  MPD had identified a suspect who is known to the victim and is currently seeking that person.
