Milwaukee man arrested for 6th OWI after going 95 mph on city streets

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- On St. Patrick's Day just before midnight a Milwaukee County Sheriff's Deputy tried to pull over a suspected drunk driving who was swerving and speeding on 86th street going north near Helena Court in Milwaukee.

The driver did not stop and sped up to 95 mph through Milwaukee city streets near 86th Street and Good Hope.

The Deputy successfully stopped the car near 88th Street but the car rammed the squad and fled again going the wrong way on Good Hope. The Deputy then ended the pursuit and started to check the area for the man.

Officials found the suspect's car abandoned near 80th and Casper Street. Deputies went to the address listed on the registration where the suspect got home just before 1 a.m.

48-year-old Milwaukee man Michael Shilbauer refused a breathalyzer test but showed signs of being severely drunk and was arrested for his 6th OWI.
