Milwaukee Health Department announces Summer Health Fair and Dance Showcase

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The City of Milwaukee is encouraging families to stay healthy this summer.

The Health Department kicked off its Summer Health Fair showcase Monday.

More than 40 resource and employment agencies will be offering free backpacks and school supplies, free haircuts for kids, and a dance showcase during the event.

Parents can get free immunizations and lead testing for the kids and qualifying families can get free water filters.

Former Packers star LeRoy Butler was also at the event to show his support for the program.

"This is the kind of leadership things that we need in our community. I just want everyone to support it. I can't thank Anthem enough for allowing me to be a part of it, I definitely want to thank the Health Department of Milwaukee because without them to lead these kinds of missions it would be hard to do.

Parents must register for the immunizations and water filters by Friday, June 15. To register, call the MHD at 414-286-3064.
