Milwaukee County Jail correctional officer arrested for DUI in West Bend

A correctional officer with the Milwaukee County Jail was arrested at 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning for DUI-1st after he went off the road and hit a pole in West Bend.

Nicholas Kumar, age 30, of Saukville, said he had shots at a bar with friends. His PBT result was .21. 

According to the West Bend Police Department, an officer investigated a complaint of an impaired driver who struck the traffic signal at the intersection of E. Washington Street and N. River Road.

West Bend Police continue to investigate this incident.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Kumar was hired in May and was terminated this weekend prior to the completion of his probationary period.
