Milwaukee Boys and Girls Club tours State Fair grounds

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin State Fair is just a little more than a week away, but some lucky kids got a sneak peek of the preparations Tuesday.

Kids from the Boys and Girls Club of Milwaukee toured the fairgrounds Tuesday afternoon.

They got to see the behind-the-scenes of what it takes to make the Wisconsin State Fair a daily success and learned about the technology and engineering that keeps the fair running.

U.S. Cellular helped sponsor the event.

"You wouldn't think of it at the Wisconsin State Fair, but there's definitely STEM all around us, so we wanted to give them a chance to check it out here today," said Julie Baker of U.S. Cellular.

Some of the funding for Tuesday's event came from the more than $55,000 U.S. Cellular has donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee.
