May is Asthma Awareness Month

May is Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month. Asthma is the top reason for missed school days, making the disease more than just a health issue, but one that affects school achievement and, ultimately, quality of life in later years.

Dr. Bruce Weiss, Vice President of Healthcare Strategies, UnitedHealthcare of Wisconsin, joined us live in studio to talk about strategies for coping with asthma, as well as a local partnership that is educating people about the disease.

More than 24 million Americans suffer from asthma – including one in 10 adults and one in 13 children in Wisconsin.
