Match Day is back for third year

Match Day 2015 is Thursday, March 19th.

Nearly a million dollars in matching funds is up for grabs thank to the Greater Milwaukee Foundation.

You can schedule your donation now, or make your donation on line, live, starting at 12 am Thursday morning. Match Day ends at 11:59pm Thursday night. That gives you 24 hours to give to your favorite charity and to possibly double your donation.

Donating is easy just visit http://matchdaymke.com. There is a button at the very top of this site that you can click on and choose from the participating food and shelter organizations in Southeastern Wisconsin, including our partners at The Hunger Task Force, http://matchdaymke.com/TheHungerTaskForce. 

All the organizations involved in Match Day work to support the basic needs of people in our community. They supply shelter, food and other day to day and long term help for those in need.

The Greater Milwaukee Foundation launched Match Day in 2012.

Over the past three year more than 13,000 donors raised more than $7.6 million thanks to Match Day.

The money from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation is give out on a percentage basis to whichever charity raises the most in public donations. The more donations collected, the higher the match.

Last year the Hunger Task Force took first place. They believe it's because their food stays local.

So take a few minutes and make a Match Day donation to your favorite charity.
