Marquette clinches spot in TBT Super 16

Marquette’s Golden Eagles Alumni team downed Hall In (Seton Hall Alumni) 96-76 Sunday afternoon in second round action from the BIG EAST Pod of The Basketball Tournament at the Al McGuire Center.

Marquette has now advanced to at least the Super 16 of the TBT each of the last three seasons and will next play in Atlanta on July 28. MU won’t learn its opponent until second round play concludes on July 21.

Guard Maurice Acker led four players in double figures with 25 points and forward Jamil Wilson chipped in 19 points. Forward Joel Wright led Hall In with 20 points and eight rebounds.
