Marijuana legalization to appear on Dane County spring ballot

MADISON -- Voters in Dane County will have their say on a non-binding referendum this spring that will ask if they think marijuana should be legalized in Wisconsin.

County supervisors unanimously voted to put the question on the 2014 ballot to see where residents side on the issue.

It's not clear how the result will impact pending legislation that would allow medical marijuana use in the state.

Right now, 18 states have some form of legal marijuana.
