Many lined up along the lakefront to exchange bikes for ferry rides

Many lined up with bicycles at Milwaukee's lakefront this morning. They were donating gently used bikes to the Milwaukee Bicycle Collective and in return, everyone got a free round trip ticket on the Lake Express Ferry. Normally that ticket costs about 150 bucks.

This is done every year around Earth Day to get more bikes into circulation.

\"The most amazing thing is that tomorrow this, shortly after noon tomorrow, the bikes will probably all be gone and on the way to new homes. Goes very quickly,\" said Aaron Schultz with the Lake Express Ferry.

The Milwaukee Bicycle Collective is a non-profit group dedicated to making bikes more accessible to people. They tell us they received about one thousand bikes today!
