Man severely injured when bicycle struck by car in Washington County

A 51-year-old Rubicon man was severely injured this morning when he was struck by a car as he was riding his bicycle on a rural Washington County Road.    According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, the man was transported by Flight For Life to a hospital with what is considered life threatening injuries. 

According to a Wisconsin State Patrol news release, the accident happened around 7 AM on Washington CTH O at Galway Road, just north of the Erin Hills Golf Course.   Both the bicycle and car were traveling westbound on the county road at the time of the accident.   The driver of a Honda Civic stayed on the scene and is cooperating with the State Patrol as they investigate the accident.

The Wisconsin State Patrol Technical Reconstruction Unit, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Hartland Fire Department and Dodge County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the accident.
