Man sets gas pump on fire trying to avoid spider

A man claiming he is deathly afraid of spiders, tries to kill one with a lighter -- the problem, he was pumping gas at the time! Take a look at this surveillance video from the gas station in metro Detroit. The video shows the man pull out his lighter and flames erupted almost immediately. Then he pulled the gas hose out of his car and everything is covered in flames. The gas station clerk hit the automatic stop button.

"He was sorry. He apologized, he was sorry, he didn't know and....it's just one of those things that happened. Stupidity. That's all I can call it...pure stupidity," the owner said.

Believe it or not, the man's car was barely damaged from the flames.
