Man home for class reunion, shot in the face

MILWAUKEE- It was supposed to be a weekend of old memories and good friends at a class reunion, but instead a man was shot in the face Saturday morning at around 1 a.m.

Claudiare Motley, a Milwaukee native, was in town from Charlotte for the Milwaukee Tech Class of 1989 class reunion.

He moved to North Carolina six years ago.

When he was dropping a friend off near 63rd and Capitol after a pre-class reunion get together Saturday morning, Motley said he was looking at his phone when he heard a tap at his window.

When he looked up he saw a man with a gun.

He said he took off to try and get away but the suspect fired a shot at him.

The bullet hit Motley in the jaw and exited out the other side of his face.

Motley, bleeding from the face, drove himself to St. Joseph's Hospital.

His jaw was broken by the bullet, but he survived.

Motley said he's noticed a change in Milwaukee when it comes to violence, although he still believes this is a great city.

However, he does think the city is in a spiral.

Motley will have surgery on Wednesday.

Milwaukee police are still investigating this case.
