Local school principal Lisa Hendrick sets fundraising record for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

Each year Milwaukee's Cystic Fibrosis Foundation honors Milwaukee's finest young professionals.

Lisa Hendrick, a record setting fundraiser for the foundation, was a special live guest on the CBS 58 News at 4 p.m.

She was inspired to bring a better understanding of CF and raise money for the foundation because of her brother, Tony, who has CF and has never let it stop him for living life to the fullest.

\"It's not outwardly visible. People like my brother look normal on the outside. But on the inside, this really affects every aspect of their lives,\" Hendrick told CBS 58's Mike Strehlow and Michele McCormack. \"Tony is just a huge motivator for me. Nothing gets in his way. He doesn't let the disease define who he is.\"

Hendrick raised more than $16,500 dollars. She says the opportunity to educate other young professionals and get them inspired to raise money for research has been hugely gratifying.

Hendrick is also, no doubt, setting a huge example for the St. Bruno school students.
