South Milwaukee woman hides in bar to get out of OWI ticket

MILWAUKEE -- 48-year-old Michelle Deserio of South Milwaukee is being charged with her third OWI offense after fleeing officers, and trying to hide in a bar.

Deserio was spotted speeding on S. Howell Ave. by a Milwaukee County sheriff's deputy. When a deputy tried to pull her over, she accelerated to 65mph. The pursuing deputy saw Deserio run into a bar called Amelia's on Layton Ave.

This OWI offense could transform into a fourth offense ticket, if Deserio is convicted on a pending OWI offense from December 20th. In addition to the December 26th OWI charge, she is being charged with Fleeing from an Officer, Second Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety. Deserio faces 11 years in prison if convicted on all charges.
