Woman narrowly missed squad car while driving drunk

WAUWATOSA -- 27-year-old Iris Arevalo narrowly missed striking a Cudahy police squad while driving drunk early Christmas Eve. Milwaukee County Sheriff's say she was driving southbound in the northbound lanes of I-45 around 1:15 a.m. Arevalo was stopped near Watertown Plank Rd on I-45.

In a release, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department said Arevalo was uncooperative. She told deputies she just left Jo JO's Martini Lounge in Wauwatosa.

Arevalo was cited for Recklessly Endangering Safety, First Offense OWI, Driving the Wrong Way on a Divided Highway and Unlawful U-Turn. Arevalo's B.A.C. was .19.

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department reports this is the 36th wrong-way driver arrest of the year.
