MILWAUKEE--The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a wrong-way driving incident that happened early Wednesday morning on I-94.

The 911 calls started coming in around midnight about a driver going east bound in the west bound lanes near 35th Street.

A tow truck driver slammed on the brakes to avoid a collision.

Unfortunately a motorcyclist hit the back of that truck.

The rider was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Deputies said that it was a confused 80-year-old woman who was going the wrong way.

The woman was ticketed and could face charges of endangering safety.

This was the 29th wrong way driver in Milwaukee County this year and the second this week.

Last year the total of wrong way drivers on Milwaukee County was 33.
