MILWAUKEE--Wintry weather was a factor in a deadly crash.

It happened on 41-45 southbound near Richfield during Friday’s snow.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Department said that a 51-year-old Cheryl Mahloch from Appleton was driving on the snow covered road when she entered the median and hit a guardrail.

She then drove onto the shoulder and got out of her car.

That’s when another driver a 26-year-old Milwaukee woman who was changing lanes lost control and crashed into Mahloch.

Mahloch died and the other driver was injured.

When deputies arrived on scene Mahloch was lying in the road and the Milwaukee woman was trapped in her car.

In light of this tragedy Sheriff Deputies want to deliver a message to other drivers to never get out of the car in a situation like this and instead call for help.
