Williams supporters plan protest Thursday morning
GREENFIELD -- Anger over the death of Derek Williams while in Milwaukee Police custody keeps growing. Another protest is planned for Thursday morning and this time, the target is not the police.
Protesters are expected to gather outside WISN Radio in Greenfield to march against comments conservative talk show host Mark Belling made about Williams. There's been controversy surrounding the 22-year-old robbery suspect's death since the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner revised Williams' cause of death. On Wednesday, protesters gathered at the foot of the Martin Luther King Jr. statue, demanding radio transmissions of the day Williams died be released. Protesters also called for the Milwaukee Police Department to fire the officers involved in the in custody death. Thursday's rally starts at 9:00 a.m. |
