Wilcox death ruled accidental drowning

MILWAUKEE --- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office performed an autopsy on the body of Nick Wilcox. The official cause of death has been ruled accidental drowning. They found no trauma or injury on Nick's body. Toxicology reports are still pending.

The Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the body pulled from the river is Nick Wilcox early Friday morning. His body was discovered near Old World Third Street Thursday evening around 6:00 p.m. Two MPD officers were patrolling the riverwalk when they discovered the partially submerged remains.

The Marine Operations Unit pulled the body from the river. Fire units as well as detectives from the Milwaukee Police Department stayed on the scene for well over three hours.

The Wilcox family has been scouring the area near Water Street, posting fliers and offering a reward for information on Nick's whereabouts.

CBS 58 has reached out to the Wilcox family, but they have yet to release any kind of statement.
