WEST ALLIS -- West Allis police are investigating the death of former CBS 58 Anchor Asa George. She was found dead in her apartment on the 2300 block of S. 58th St. We're told she was found after officers were called to conduct a welfare check.

According to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office report, George's father had been trying to contact her for four days with no luck. That's when George's aunt called West Allis police, and asked them to check on her niece.

West Allis firefighters had to enter her apartment through a window. The firefighters found 34-year-old Asa George in a bathtub full of water. The medical examiner's report says firefighters also found a malnourished boxer dog.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office has yet to determine a cause of death. They are awaiting results from toxicology tests.

We at CBS 58 express our condolences to her family, friends and former broadcasting colleagues.
