WEST ALLIS -- A 27-year-old man is in serious condition after fleeing a West Allis police officer on S. 76th St. The man lost control of his car, and was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled over on S. 76th St.

Police say the 27-year-old man was involved in a verbal dispute with another motorist near 62nd and Greenfield Ave. An officer tried to pull him over on S76th St., but the 27-year-old sped off heading north.

The 27-year-old man struck a fire hydrant, several trees and was ejected from his car as it rolled over. The driver was transported to a local hospital, and is in serious condition.

We're told he was the only occupant of the vehicle, and police believe alcohol and speed are both factors.
